Role overview
AB InBev India is seeking an Assistant Manager - HMO to join its Supply team in Maksi, Madhya Pradesh. This position is centered on helping drive growth in both revenue and profitability by making sure co-packer operations run efficiently, comply with standards, and consistently deliver strong quality.
The role requires close coordination with internal functions and external co-packers to support dependable, cost-effective manufacturing. Success in this position depends on strong execution across production, quality, compliance, inventory, maintenance, and reporting.
Co-packer operations and coordination
- Manage routine coordination with co-packers so operations stay aligned and production runs smoothly.
- Monitor performance indicators such as complaints per million, quality index, and micro index, and call out any gaps or unusual trends.
- Take part in regular performance reviews and ensure follow-up on agreed action points.
- Confirm that co-packers follow company procedures, standards, and policy requirements.
Production planning and execution
- Carry out production plans in line with monthly schedules received from the Planning team.
- Compare actual output against the plan and escalate any risks that may affect delivery commitments.
- Ensure packaging activities follow SOPs and defined process parameters, including ZITECH/ABI standards.
- Help meet demand while keeping quality and compliance intact.
Quality assurance and food safety
- Ensure incoming inspection checks are completed for raw materials and packaging materials.
- Support batch-level quality verification and release activities.
- Oversee compliance with food safety and quality requirements at co-packer facilities.
- Assist with product holds, complaint investigations, and CAPA tracking within the Quality Management System.
- Raise quality or food safety issues promptly when they arise.
Inventory and cost control
- Support planning for the availability of raw materials, packaging materials, and spare parts.
- Track inventory and assist with stock reconciliation.
- Maintain proper records for inventory and assets, including handling and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs or improve efficiency.
Maintenance and reliability
- Track preventive maintenance schedules and help ensure they are followed.
- Coordinate with co-packers to arrange timely repairs and equipment upkeep.
- Monitor the availability of critical spares to reduce the chance of production interruptions.
Compliance and safety
- Support compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal requirements.
- Help implement health and safety practices across co-packer locations.
- Monitor for non-compliance and report issues as needed.
Continuous improvement
- Participate in audits and help identify opportunities to improve processes.
- Support initiatives aimed at better efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
- Contribute to training and capability-building efforts for co-packers.
Reporting and analytics
- Prepare and circulate daily and weekly production and quality reports.
- Track deviations from SOPs and follow through on corrective action closure.
- Ensure operational issues are reported and escalated on time.
Stakeholders
Internal stakeholders include Supply Planning, Procurement, Quality, Logistics, and Finance. External stakeholders include co-packers and vendors.
Qualifications and experience
A bachelor’s degree is required, with engineering being the preferred background. The role calls for 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, co-packer or third-party operations, or supply chain.
Technical background
The position needs a practical understanding of manufacturing and packaging operations, familiarity with quality systems and food safety standards, and exposure to planning, production coordination, or quality-related processes.
