Tech Lead — Full Stack & AI

About the role

Khadoom is developing Qatar’s first AI-driven personal assistant for handling real-world physical tasks. The product is an AI-first operations platform that blends conversational AI, intelligent agents, workflow automation, logistics coordination, and human-in-the-loop execution so users can get things done through natural language.

This is more than a chatbot layer. The platform includes AI agents, RAG-driven workflows, WhatsApp and Instagram channels, internal operations dashboards, escalation flows, analytics, and third-party service integrations.

As one of the earliest engineering leaders on the team, you’ll work directly with the founders and help shape the product direction, technical architecture, and engineering culture from the ground up.

Work location and model

The role is based in Lusail, Qatar, with an on-site work model. Visa sponsorship is available.

What you will be responsible for

You will set the technical direction for the platform, build production-grade features across frontend, backend, AI, and integrations, and help create a scalable foundation for the product.

Your work will include designing backend systems, APIs, data models, and internal tools; creating AI-powered conversational experiences using LLMs, RAG, structured outputs, tool/function calling, and agent orchestration; and improving reliability, performance, security, and developer experience.

You’ll also contribute to dashboards, workflow tools, automation flows, and operational systems, while reviewing code, mentoring engineers, and upholding strong engineering standards. You will collaborate closely with the founders to translate product ideas into dependable production systems.

Technology environment

The expected stack and product surface include TypeScript, Node.js, React/Next.js, PostgreSQL or Supabase, Vercel, modern cloud infrastructure, OpenAI and other LLM APIs, RAG, structured outputs, tool/function calling, AI agents, WhatsApp and Instagram messaging integrations, as well as internal dashboards, workflow automation, analytics, and operations tooling.

Experience with Flutter or mobile development is considered an advantage.

Experience and fit

The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of software engineering experience and has hands-on experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React/Next.js, and modern backend development. You should have built production AI applications using LLMs, RAG, AI agents, tool/function calling, or conversational systems.

Strong understanding of AI application architecture is important; this is not a role for someone who only integrates AI APIs. You should be comfortable designing scalable systems, APIs, databases, integrations, and cloud applications, and have a solid grasp of architecture, debugging, performance tuning, and engineering best practices.

This is a hands-on position, so you should be comfortable working across frontend, backend, AI orchestration, integrations, and product architecture while also making technical decisions.

Preferred experience

Nice-to-have experience includes Flutter or mobile app development, WhatsApp Business API, Instagram messaging, chat-based products, logistics or delivery platforms, marketplace systems, field operations, or human-in-the-loop workflows. Additional advantages include experience with Supabase, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, CI/CD, Vercel, AWS, Azure, RAG pipelines, vector databases, AI evaluation, guardrails, observability, dashboards, admin panels, workflow builders, analytics systems, and bilingual or Arabic-first AI products.

Applicants whose background does not closely match the stated requirements, whose experience is mainly limited to demos without strong engineering fundamentals, or who depend heavily on AI-generated code without understanding system design, debugging, architecture, and production reliability are not a fit. This is also not suitable for someone seeking a management-only position, since the role requires hands-on design, building, and shipping of production systems.
