You will join the Art Team at RubyPlay, working remotely from Sydney. Since 2017, the company has created over 200 original games and formed more than 100 partnerships around the world. Role overview
RubyPlay is expanding its creative team and is hiring a Senior 2D Animator to help make slot games feel visually rich, polished, and engaging. This role is focused on producing high-quality animation work that improves the player experience and supports the visual quality of the games.
What you will do
- Design and animate game assets for slot titles, including characters, symbols, backgrounds, interface elements, and marketing banners.
- Make sure animations are performance-friendly and correctly implemented inside the game engine.
- Work closely with both creative and development teams to resolve integration issues while preserving the intended look and feel.
- Contribute ideas to game concepts and visual direction together with the wider creative group.
- Help refine animation processes, tools, and production workflows.
- Guide and support junior animators by sharing knowledge and strengthening the team’s overall capability.
What makes a strong fit
- At least 5 to 7 years of experience in 2D animation, ideally with a strong background in slot games or iGaming.
- Strong understanding of slot game motion work, including symbol animations, win sequences, character motion, UI transitions, and special effects.
- Advanced working knowledge of Spine, which is the main tool used for this role.
- Good familiarity with Adobe After Effects is a plus.
- A portfolio that clearly demonstrates slot game animation, technical implementation, and polished visual quality.
- Previous experience mentoring others and sharing expertise.
- Upper-intermediate English or better.
- Exposure to AI tools.
