Role overview
The Quantity Surveyor will report to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and support the project team on all cost-related and contractual matters covering both the main contract and subcontract packages.
Key responsibilities
- Measure quantities accurately to support progress claims, variation claims, payments to subcontractors and suppliers, and the preparation of final accounts.
- Prepare recurring cost reports and help maintain control over the project budget.
- Keep clear site records and supporting documentation for variation order and extension of time claims.
- Coordinate with site storemen to ensure materials are properly recorded and controlled.
- Stay updated on project specifications and scope changes at different stages so you can advise structural, architectural, and M&E coordinators on contractual design requirements.
- Support the sourcing and procurement of subcontractors and suppliers for specified materials.
- Participate in technical discussions to track design progress and flag possible cost escalations early.
- Build knowledge of the main contractor’s contractual and legal rights so you can guide site colleagues and management on potential project issues.
Qualifications and experience
Candidates should hold a Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building, or Civil Engineering, and have at least 1 year of experience in tendering, estimating, and quantity measurement for building projects valued at S$25 million or more. Strong analytical ability is important for this role.
