Role overview
This position is focused on PLC-based industrial automation for machine control systems. The engineer will develop and adjust PLC logic, build and refine HMI/SCADA applications, support commissioning, troubleshoot electrical and automation faults, and help ensure machines perform reliably at customer sites and in production.
Responsibilities
- Create PLC programs for platforms such as Siemens, Delta, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, Schneider, or comparable systems.
- Design, update, and maintain HMI and SCADA applications.
- Develop machine control logic based on equipment specifications and operating requirements.
- Carry out commissioning activities at the factory and at customer locations.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, actuators, and control panels.
- Study electrical schematics and P&ID drawings to understand machine functionality.
- Prepare I/O schedules, wiring diagrams, and related control documentation.
- Set up VFDs, servo drives, temperature controllers, and communication interfaces.
- Link PLC systems with industrial networks such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and CAN.
- Assist production and service teams during assembly, installation, and machine setup.
- Improve cycle time and overall automation efficiency.
- Keep software backups and maintain revision history for control programs.
- Offer technical assistance to customers during installation and post-sale service.
- Train service personnel and operators on machine operation and usage.
- Follow electrical safety requirements and internal quality processes.
Requirements
- Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
- Hands-on knowledge of PLC programming and HMI/SCADA development.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and P&ID diagrams.
- Experience with drive and controller configuration, including VFDs, servo systems, and temperature controllers.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols and network integration.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for machine control and automation systems.
- Comfort with field commissioning, customer support, and site visits.
- Capability to document control logic, wiring, and I/O details clearly.
