Material Handler 4

Role Overview

This position is focused on receiving, tracking, moving, and preparing materials so production and related teams have the right items at the right time. The role also involves accurate system updates, inventory checks, safe equipment use, and support for outbound shipments.

Core Duties

• Check customer orders, inspect stock, and issue materials from inventory to manufacturing or other departments as needed.
• Transport materials between loading bays, incoming or outgoing trucks, storage zones, and production areas.
• Tag items correctly and maintain accurate shelf and warehouse location records.
• Process material movements in SAP, raise non-conformance reports in IQMS, and close tasks in the Cell Fusion MFG application when required.
• Carry out cycle counts and report the results.
• Handle crating activities and verify outbound materials through audit checks.
• Use material-handling equipment to shift goods safely and efficiently.
• Get finished goods ready for dispatch by locating, picking, packing, and loading them, including reusable/recycle crates.

Safety Responsibilities

• Complete all mandatory safety training and consistently follow safe work procedures.
• Use the required personal protective equipment and comply with clean-room practices.
• Work with lifting aids and fixtures such as hoists, lift tracks, gantry cranes, and lifting tools when assembling tools or moving items.
• Act quickly on unsafe behavior, and escalate any abnormal situation to the immediate supervisor.

Candidate Profile

The employer is looking for someone with at least 2 years of experience in a logistics-related field, along with a certificate or diploma in any discipline. A background in Logistics or Business Administration is preferred. The role requires strong English reading and writing ability, the capacity to follow instructions, and the confidence to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Background

Experience in material handling is an advantage. Prior MHE training, especially on forklifts and reach trucks, is preferred. Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word will also be useful.

Work Location and Arrangement

The job is based in Whangamata, Waikato, New Zealand. The company uses flexible work-location models for eligible roles, combining on-site collaboration with remote work. For hybrid arrangements, some days are worked at a Lam or customer/supplier site and the remaining time may be remote, depending on the role’s specific setup.
