Role overview
An experienced finance leader is sought to join a large organisation with substantial capital intensity that is expanding and changing at pace. In this role, you will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and take ownership of the Group Financial Control area across a multi-entity structure.
Your remit will span statutory reporting, financial governance, regulatory compliance, planning, business partnering, and board-level insight. The position also supports significant capital investment initiatives, making it well suited to someone who can combine technical depth with commercial judgement.
Key responsibilities
- Direct the group financial reporting process, statutory accounts preparation, and governance controls.
- Manage regulatory submissions, audit coordination, and adherence to relevant financial standards.
- Own long-range planning, forecasting cycles, and scenario analysis to support decision-making.
- Provide financial oversight and assurance for major capital investment programmes.
- Prepare meaningful reporting packs and performance dashboards for senior leadership and the Board.
- Build, guide, and develop a strong Financial Planning & Analysis and Business Partnering team.
- Support strategic choices with sound analysis, insight, and commercial recommendations.
- Champion finance transformation initiatives, including system enhancements and process efficiency improvements.
Candidate profile
You should be a qualified accountant such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent designation, with 8 to 10+ years of post-qualification experience.
The ideal background includes senior finance leadership or Group Financial Controller exposure within a complex organisation that operates with substantial capital investment and multiple entities.
Experience in financial reporting, FP&A, governance, and business partnering is important, along with a track record of overseeing large capital programmes and multi-entity reporting.
Success in driving finance transformation, improving ERP and finance systems, and leading high-performing teams will be highly valued.
Strong stakeholder engagement, leadership capability, and clear communication are essential.
Why this role stands out
This is a high-profile opportunity to shape strategic decisions, lead a major finance function, and contribute to long-term investment delivery within a growing organisation.
