General Operator

Role overview

College Group is hiring an enthusiastic General Operator to join its Biofuels team in Nobber, County Meath. This is a full-time, on-site position where you will support the biodiesel production process and handle the intake and dispatch of feedstocks and biodiesel. The role is part of a team environment and the shift schedule will vary, with rosters arranged in advance. Shifts are typically 9 or 12 hours long.

Founded in 1989, College Group operates across three modern sites: Nobber in County Meath, Monnery in County Cavan, and Newry in County Down. College Biofuels is the renewable energy division, focused on producing sustainable fuel for transport and heating uses.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and oversee the process from the control room using a PLC-based system.
• Work in line with the daily production plan.
• Collect product samples and deliver them to the laboratory for testing.
• Carry out line cleaning and general housekeeping duties.
• Manage timely biodiesel dispatch and off-load feedstock to keep production supplied.
• Use a shunter when required; training will be provided.

Work schedule
