Role overview
This full-time front desk position is based in Singapore and sits within Rooms and Guest Services Operations at a non-management level. The role focuses on delivering smooth guest arrivals and departures, accurate billing, responsive service, and professional coordination across hotel teams.
Core duties
- Handle guest arrivals, departures, room allocations, room changes, and late checkout requests.
- Take care of payment processing, room key activation and replacement, and checking that rates align with market codes while noting any exceptions.
- Review and correct guest billing where needed.
- Keep relevant team members informed when guests are waiting for rooms.
- Relay messages to guests and close out departures in the property system.
- Work with Housekeeping to monitor room readiness and guest issues.
- Maintain guest records and supporting paperwork.
- Operate the hotel switchboard and manage guest calls professionally.
- Prepare and review daily reports, contingency lists, and credit card authorization reports.
- Provide directions, local information, and other assistance to guests and visitors.
- Respond to calls, requests, questions, and concerns, then follow through until they are resolved to guest satisfaction.
- Arrange transportation for guests when required.
- Count and secure the cash bank at the start and end of shift.
- Cash checks and process vouchers, paid-outs, charges, refunds/change, and other payment methods.
- Alert Loss Prevention or Security if theft is reported.
- Follow company procedures, report incidents or unsafe conditions, maintain a neat professional appearance, protect confidential information, and safeguard company property.
- Greet guests warmly, recognize their needs, support guests with disabilities, and thank them sincerely.
- Use clear, professional communication and proper telephone etiquette.
- Build positive working relationships, contribute to team goals, and respond constructively to colleagues’ concerns.
- Meet quality standards and be prepared for long periods of standing, sitting, or walking.
- Handle, move, lift, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
- Complete other duties assigned by supervisors.
