Enterprise Data Architect

Role overview

This position is for an Enterprise / Data Architect to lead the strategy, governance, and ongoing development of a large-scale Data Lakehouse platform for a banking and financial services environment. The selected professional will shape the future architecture, modernize existing capabilities, and ensure consistent alignment across Cloudera, Teradata, Informatica, and Denodo environments.

The engagement is based in Jeddah and requires onsite work. The program focuses on Data Lakehouse implementation within the BFSI domain.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of the complete Data Lakehouse architecture, including data intake, storage, transformation, consumption, and governance.
• Establish and uphold the desired target architecture, with Medallion principles spanning Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
• Maintain smooth interoperability across Cloudera, Teradata, Informatica, Denodo, and other related data platforms.
• Review the current-state architecture, identify deficiencies, and define remediation and modernization actions.
• Oversee enterprise data models, data standards, aggregation approaches, and readiness for reporting.
• Ensure adherence to governance, security, metadata, lineage, and regulatory obligations.
• Create architecture patterns that support scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, and strong performance.
• Run architecture review sessions and work closely with business, governance, security, and technology stakeholders.

Skills and experience required

• Hands-on background in enterprise data architecture, data warehousing, and modernization of data lakehouse platforms.
• Strong grasp of Medallion Architecture and enterprise data modeling methods.
• Practical experience with Cloudera CDP components such as Spark, Hive, Kafka, and HDFS.
• Exposure to Teradata Vantage.
• Experience with Informatica BDM and PowerExchange.
• Working knowledge of Denodo.
• Experience designing Kafka-based data integration solutions.
• Solid understanding of metadata management, lineage, data quality, security, and governance controls.
• Ability to plan for performance tuning, scaling, and resilient architecture.
• Background in BFSI data models and familiarity with banking frameworks such as FSLDM and FSAS is preferred.
• Experience contributing to regulatory, audit, and compliance-focused data programs is preferred.
• Demonstrated delivery of large-scale data transformation and modernization initiatives.
• Architecture certifications and a strong data engineering foundation are beneficial.

Additional information

This role is intended for senior professionals with extensive enterprise architecture leadership experience. Applicants should have at least 15 years of experience in Enterprise Data Architecture or similar leadership roles, ideally with a history of leading complex data platform programs in BFSI environments.
