About the Project

Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) combines the engineering capability of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been engaged to deliver Snowy 2.0. The work is located in the Snowy Mountains region of New South Wales and forms part of one of the world’s largest pumped hydro developments.

Snowy 2.0 represents the next phase of the Snowy Scheme and is Australia’s largest committed renewable energy project. It is designed to supply on-demand power and large-scale storage for many decades, while building a lasting legacy in Australian infrastructure.

Role Summary

The Draftsperson will create precise and detailed technical drawings for civil structures and systems on the Snowy 2.0 Project. The role requires adherence to design standards and specifications, support for shop drawing preparation, and assistance in spotting design or construction issues that could affect delivery.

Qualifications

Diploma or certificate in drafting, civil engineering, or a closely related discipline.
White Card.

Experience

At least 2 years’ experience in civil drafting, ideally on major infrastructure or hydro projects and within multidisciplinary teams.

Required Skills and Competencies

Working knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM-related tools such as Revit, Revizto, Tekla, or Navisworks.
Ability to interpret drawings from multiple disciplines.
Understanding of drafting standards such as AS1100 or comparable ISO standards.
Working knowledge of civil construction methods and terminology.
Basic grasp of BIM processes and workflows.
Ability to review and interpret geotechnical and survey information.
Strong written and verbal communication for coordination with engineers and site personnel.
Good organisation and time management under pressure.
Adaptability and willingness to learn as project needs change.
Problem-solving ability with strong attention to detail.
Capability to prioritise tasks and produce quality work in a fast-moving environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Key Responsibilities

Produce detailed construction drawings for civil works such as dams, tunnels and intake structures using structural and civil design inputs.
Revise and update drawings based on markups and instructions.
Work from engineering sketches and written specifications to develop accurate documentation.
Keep drawing registers current, maintain filing systems, and archive records in line with document control and version management procedures.
Work with engineers and the senior draftsperson to resolve drafting-related issues.
Ensure all drawings follow project standards and that revisions are properly tracked.
Assist with document control tasks and drawing submission workflows.
Carry out basic quantity take-offs and confirm or adjust bar lists from drawings.
Attend design review sessions and incorporate feedback into revised drawings.
Help support environmental and safety compliance by accurately reflecting site constraints in drawings.
Recognise and report design conflicts or construction clashes.
