About Pinnacle
Pinnacle Health is committed to improving access to the highest standard of healthcare for everyone. The organisation has an explicit focus on equity for Māori and Pasifika communities, aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Rather than operating like a standard Primary Health Organisation, Pinnacle works to remove barriers to primary care, support people to stay well, and encourage proactive, wellness-focused care.
The team is known for its forward-thinking approach, with a strong culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. As the organisation grows and evolves, it is seeking a Development Manager to support the next phase of change across its network.
The opportunity
In this role, you will work with District Managers, general practices, clusters of practices, extended care teams, and partner organisations to identify, shape, and deliver development initiatives. Your work will help ensure projects are prioritised in a way that supports long-term service sustainability and reduces health inequities, particularly for Māori and Pasifika.
You will contribute across practices, districts, and the wider region, using strong influencing skills, relationship management, strategic thinking, data visualisation tools, and AI to support change. The role involves applying structured development and improvement methods to solve system challenges and improve equity, quality, safety, and patient experience in general practice.
Reporting to the Deputy CEO, you will bring a background in quality improvement and/or change management, along with the confidence to coach general practice teams through successful change.
Applications are welcomed from across Te Manawa Taki, and candidates based in Taranaki are especially encouraged to apply.
What you will bring
- A tertiary qualification in health, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Formal capability in improvement methodologies such as Improvement Advisor training, LEAN, or Six Sigma, with evidence of successful results from using them.
- Ideally, a recognised health professional registration or a business management degree, or comparable experience.
- At least five years of experience in quality improvement systems and/or change management.
- Strong experience using improvement tools such as process analysis, data collection, data review, problem solving, root cause analysis, and other creative approaches.
- A proven history of delivering change initiatives and completing projects on schedule and within budget.
- Experience working with Māori and Pasifika leaders and communities in support of their health goals.
What the organisation offers
- A values-led workplace grounded in connection, learning, collaboration, cultural responsiveness, stewardship, and wellbeing.
- Flexible working arrangements.
- Medical insurance.
- Employee assistance services.
- Free flu vaccinations.
- The chance to contribute to a team focused on equitable health outcomes and practical support for community wellbeing.
Additional information
The organisation’s shared values include Whakawhanaungatanga (connection), Akoranga (learning), Mahi tahi (collaboration and partnership), Kawa whakaruruhau (cultural responsiveness), Kaitiakitanga (stewardship), and Haurora (health and wellbeing).
Pinnacle works in partnership with general practice, hapū, iwi, and other health organisations. Its services include smoking cessation, screening, mobile immunisation, before school checks, extended care, and school-based health services.
Interested candidates may contact Katie Latimer at katie.latimer@pinnacle.health.nz to arrange a conversation before applying if needed. Applications are to be submitted via BBHR. The employer may screen applications as they are received and may move to interview soon after the closing date, depending on application volume. A pre-interview phone screen may be part of the process, and applicants can note any accommodations they may require.
Applications close at 5:00 pm on Monday, 13 July 2026.
