About the role

Labcorp is a worldwide healthcare diagnostics and drug development company focused on helping providers, researchers, and patients make better-informed care decisions. The company is hiring a Courier for its Mobile, AL team. The route includes stops in Mobile, Saraland, Bay Minette, Daphne, Fairhope, and Foley.

Work schedule

This is a Monday through Friday role from 3:30 pm to 12:30 am. Working on holidays is expected, and those hours are paid at overtime rates.

What the job involves

• Prepare all supplies required for the day’s pickup route.
• Complete scheduled pickups within the required time frame.
• Return the day’s collected items to the branch before the shift ends.
• Transport specimens and laboratory samples carefully and efficiently.
• Drive the company vehicle safely and follow all traffic regulations.
• Use a handheld electronic device to track and manage pickups.
• Coordinate with dispatch for extra pickup requests when needed.
• Assess traffic, alternate routes, and weather to keep the route on track.

Minimum qualifications

No formal education or prior experience is required.

Preferred background

• High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent credential.
• At least 1 year of experience as a driver or courier.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.

Additional job standards

• Strong punctuality and time management habits.
• Excellent attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to resolve customer-related issues.
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Vehicle and route details

A company vehicle is provided for route use. For an additional $125 per month, you may also take the vehicle home and use it for personal travel.

Employees scheduled for 20 or more hours per week may qualify for medical, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD, 401(k), paid time off or flexible time off, tuition reimbursement, and an employee stock purchase plan. Employees scheduled for fewer than 20 hours, as well as casual, intern, and temporary workers, are only eligible for the 401(k) plan. Employees on a 7-on/7-off schedule receive all listed benefits except PTO/FTO.
