Role overview
This is a full-time remote opportunity for a Technical Research Engineer to contribute to research engineering work on a client project. The position is centered on improving AI-focused systems and infrastructure within a platform environment, with an emphasis on scalable solutions and stronger technical performance.
What you will do
- Build, test, and refine research engineering solutions that improve AI model quality and scale.
- Work on existing research pipelines to make them more efficient and to lower latency in distributed environments.
- Partner with data science and engineering teams to move research output into production-ready systems.
- Measure system performance, identify bottlenecks, and use findings to support architecture decisions.
- Prepare clear documentation covering research methods, experiment outcomes, and technical details for internal teams.
Skills and qualifications
- Strong programming ability in Python, C++, or Rust, especially for high-performance and algorithmic work.
- Hands-on exposure to distributed computing tools such as Apache Spark, Dask, or Ray.
- Solid understanding of machine learning systems, including model tuning and faster inference.
- Comfort working with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of linear algebra, optimization methods, and scientific computing packages like NumPy and SciPy.
- Ability to produce clean, maintainable, and well-structured code for both research and production use.
- Experience using Git and working within collaborative development processes.
- Good grasp of data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis for scalable system design.
