Role overview
This is a short-term contract opportunity for a STEM Biology Expert working remotely from India. The assignment is task-based and runs for 3 months. Compensation is set at $250 per task.
Working arrangement
The role requires a minimum commitment of 4 hours per day, with availability of up to 40 hours per week. You will also need to maintain at least 4 hours of overlap with Pacific Time (PST).
Key responsibilities
- Create and solve advanced biology questions that help test the boundaries of large language models.
- Prepare detailed, accurate, step-by-step solutions with strong logical reasoning.
- Work with LLM researchers to match question types with evaluation objectives, particularly in areas where models usually perform poorly.
- Help shape new evaluation benchmarks using biology topics that range from early undergraduate level to PhD-level material.
- Break down complex biological problems using a disciplined and systematic approach.
- Communicate biology ideas clearly through simple explanations, visuals, and simulations when useful.
- Review AI evaluation outputs by adding thoughtful feedback and thorough annotations.
Required background
- A Master’s or PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline, or current enrollment in a PhD program or postdoctoral position.
- Strong capability in research and analytical problem-solving.
- Experience giving practical feedback and precise annotations.
- Ability to think creatively and laterally when approaching problems.
- Good written and verbal communication, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
- Self-driven work style and the ability to operate independently.
- Access to a desktop or laptop and a dependable internet connection.
