Role overview

This full-time Shift Lead position at B&Q in Margate is a permanent onsite role with 36.75 hours per week. The role is paid at an annual full-time equivalent rate of £27,709.50 and includes pension contributions plus 6.6 weeks of holiday.

This is a keyholder role. Working hours can begin as early as 6:00 AM and may finish as late as 9:00 PM.

At B&Q, the aim is to help customers bring their home improvement ideas to life by giving them the advice, tools and confidence they need. As a Shift Lead, you will play an important part in making sure the store runs safely and smoothly for both customers and colleagues.

What you will do

You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of your shift and helping create a positive experience in the store. The role is focused on safe operations, effective team coordination and strong customer service.

• Act as the main driver of the store’s daily activity and help ensure operations stay organised and efficient.
• Deploy colleagues in the right areas so the team is working effectively to serve every customer.
• Serve as a go-to contact for both customers and colleagues during your shift.
• Keep the store safe and help maintain a compliant working and shopping environment at all times.
