Description de l'emploi

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Risk Manager to strengthen its risk function across built environment and major infrastructure programmes in Dublin. The position sits within a team focused on some of Ireland’s largest and most technically demanding projects, where effective risk and opportunity management directly influences delivery outcomes.

As part of Jacobs’ broader mission to solve critical challenges and create positive impact, this role calls for someone who can shape risk frameworks, guide project teams, and improve decision-making through structured analysis and clear reporting.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the strategic lead for reviewing, developing and maintaining comprehensive frameworks for managing risks and opportunities.
  • Create practical strategies that help projects meet objectives and improve delivery across a wider programme portfolio.
  • Lead both quantitative and qualitative risk analysis work, and help define strong risk management practices across all stages of project delivery.
  • Use hands-on experience with QCRA and QSRA to support analysis and planning.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for risk and opportunity management, sharing expert guidance and supporting mitigation actions.
  • Support stakeholders through workshops, reviews, analysis and practical risk advice.
  • Ensure risks and opportunities are identified early, assessed properly, reduced where possible and tracked through to resolution.
  • Build and maintain clear reporting and communication processes for projects and the wider business, promoting accountability and visibility.
  • Design and deliver training and engagement initiatives that strengthen risk awareness and embed a positive risk culture.
  • Contribute to project reviews, senior reporting and resource planning across multiple major project operations.

What you need

  • Proven background in project and programme risk and opportunity management within construction, infrastructure or the built environment.
  • Professional risk qualification such as IRM Diploma, PMI RMP, MoR Practitioner, APM Risk Practitioner, or an equivalent credential.
  • Practical experience carrying out QCRA and QSRA.
  • Clear communication skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Willingness to travel and occasionally stay overnight away from home.
  • Working knowledge of tools such as Safran, Oracle PRA, @Risk, ARM, Predict, Risk Hive or similar platforms.
  • Experience setting up and embedding risk frameworks, governance structures and reporting processes.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build strong relationships at all levels.
  • An analytical degree in Engineering, Project Management, Risk Management or a related discipline.

Preferred experience

  • Project management qualifications such as PMP, AMPPMQ or PRINCE2.
  • Familiarity with ISO 31000, COSO ERM and APM PRAM.
  • Membership of professional bodies such as IRM, APM or PMI.
  • Experience working with NEC contracts, PMO environments or major project controls.

Important note

This position is not intended for candidates whose background is limited to financial, commercial, IT, digital or legal risk. The company is specifically looking for practical project risk experience within infrastructure and the built environment.

The company also offers flexible working arrangements and a hybrid working model, with time split between Jacobs offices or project sites and remote locations. Support is available for candidates who need reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process.

Jacobs is a disability confident employer and welcomes applicants seeking flexible working arrangements, including those who may not meet every listed requirement.

Additional support may be requested through Careers Support if needed during the application process.

Additional information

Experience in the following sectors will be especially valuable: Highways & Transport, Energy & Power, Water & Environment, and Major Capital Programmes.
