About the role

Gallagher is hiring a Reliability Planner Scheduler to join its Engineering team in Hamilton, Waikato. In this position, you will coordinate production and maintenance planning, manage work orders, and make sure labour, parts, and other resources are aligned to customer commitments and internal goals. You will work closely with production, procurement, engineering, and service teams to streamline schedules, reduce downtime, and support better on-time delivery.

The role suits someone who is organised, forward-thinking, and comfortable balancing several priorities while keeping communication clear and timely.

Key duties

• Create and maintain maintenance plans and schedules in MEX CMMS.
• Build weekly schedules and work with Production to keep disruption to a minimum.
• Support the ongoing improvement of preventive maintenance routines.
• Confirm that necessary parts and resources are available before planned work begins.
• Track the maintenance backlog and keep CMMS records accurate and up to date.
• Review performance data and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Encourage maintenance practices that are safe and compliant.
• Partner with maintenance and engineering teams on shutdown planning, scheduled maintenance, and project work.

About you

You are a practical and analytical planner who communicates well and approaches problems logically. You work well in a busy environment, can juggle multiple stakeholders, and stay focused on delivery deadlines.

Requirements

• NZQA Level 4 qualification, or an equivalent credential, in Engineering, Maintenance, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Demonstrated background in maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Strong experience using CMMS platforms, with MEX being particularly valuable.
• Exposure to ERP or CMMS tools such as SAP, Oracle, or IBM Maximo, along with advanced Excel ability.
• Solid understanding of production flow, materials planning, and capacity management.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret data and turn insights into workable actions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across teams.
