About the Opportunity
Miraval The Red Sea is part of a landmark wellness destination in Saudi Arabia, created through a partnership with Red Sea Global, Miraval Resorts & Spas, and the Hyatt portfolio. This adults-only, all-inclusive, digital-detox retreat is being developed along the Red Sea coast in Umluj, Tabuk, and is shaped around the idea of “A Life in Balance.” The resort blends luxury hospitality with wellness-led guest experiences in one of the region’s most remarkable marine settings.
This role is suited to individuals who are enthusiastic, grounded, and eager to grow with a visionary brand that is helping shape the future of wellness hospitality.
Role Summary
As a Purchasing Clerk, you will help keep the flow of goods and services moving smoothly through the organization by handling the administrative, communication, and documentation tasks that support the purchasing function. The position contributes to procurement goals such as cost control, quality assurance, and timely supply.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and assess suppliers by comparing pricing, product quality, delivery performance, and service levels across local and international markets.
- Research the market for new suppliers, products, and services, and review market developments and trends.
- Build and preserve productive, long-term relationships with preferred suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance regularly, carry out reviews, and resolve service issues or discrepancies.
- Handle negotiations on pricing, terms, conditions, and service-level commitments to obtain the best possible value.
- Draft, review, and manage purchasing contracts and agreements while keeping legal and risk considerations in mind.
- Track contract end dates and start renewal or re-tendering steps when needed.
- Process purchase requests and enter them as purchase orders in the ERP system with accuracy and completeness.
- Follow up on order progress, accelerate deliveries when required, and address issues related to delivery or quality.
- Coordinate with internal teams such as operations, finance, and engineering to understand requirements and ensure timely procurement.
- Look for opportunities to reduce costs without affecting quality or delivery standards.
- Review spending patterns to identify consolidation opportunities or alternate sourcing options.
- Support and track cost-saving initiatives and their results.
- Ensure purchasing activities follow hotel policies, procedures, ethical standards, sustainable practices, and applicable regulations.
- Recognize and reduce supply-chain risks, including geopolitical events, natural disasters, and supplier financial instability.
- Maintain complete and accurate procurement records for audit readiness.
- Create and analyze reports on spending, supplier performance, savings, and market trends.
- Share practical findings and suggestions with management to improve procurement processes continuously.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in the same role within a luxury hotel or resort.
- Strong communication and active listening abilities.
- Interest in or understanding of procurement and finance.
- Good command of English; Arabic or another language will be an advantage.
- Careful, detail-oriented, and diligent in daily work.
