About the Role
This position is for an experienced model audit specialist with a genuine interest in financial modelling and a strong drive to grow. You will partner with a team of modelling experts to examine and assess complex financial models, making sure they are dependable, accurate, and commercially sound.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee several teams working across a range of live engagements.
- Lead model audit work so that models are mathematically accurate and commercially appropriate.
- Offer senior-level direction and practical insight to support successful assignment delivery.
- Examine commercial documentation and ensure the financial model reflects it correctly.
- Help build and improve financial modelling approaches and internal tools through ongoing innovation and refinement.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and staffing arrangements to support efficient delivery.
Leadership and Teamwork
- Manage and guide a team of model audit professionals.
- Coach, encourage, and direct junior colleagues on assignments.
- Work closely with teammates, contributing to shared delivery and learning from others.
- Explain model findings and recommendations clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Translate highly technical model issues into language that non-specialists can understand.
Growth and Client Development
- Contribute to business growth across an important sector of the company.
- Support the creation and preparation of client proposals and pitches.
- Run client meetings and strengthen long-term client relationships.
Requirements
- 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in a financial role, ideally within a respected advisory firm or a large corporate environment.
- Strong grounding in accounting principles; an accounting qualification is an advantage.
- Advanced knowledge of project finance.
- Excellent analytical ability with hands-on experience building and operating Excel-based financial models.
- A degree in a numerate subject is required; a postgraduate qualification in accounting or finance is considered beneficial.
- Familiarity with the FAST financial modelling standard is preferred.
