Led by a seasoned master mariner and founder, the business supports shipowners, port authorities, and other maritime stakeholders across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The team is deliberately small and high impact, and the company is actively building AI-supported workflows to make its work faster, smarter, and more scalable.

This position reports directly to the founder, so you will be working close to the business’s core decisions and operations.

About the role

This is not a programming role and it is not an IT support position. It is an execution-focused role for someone who can turn the founder’s ideas into working AI-enabled systems, research processes, and operational workflows.

You will use tools such as Claude, Perplexity, Make.com, and other platforms that the team will train you on. Prior experience with those exact tools is not required, though familiarity with Claude Co-Work or Claude Code would be an advantage.

The work may include automating research, setting up communication sequences, connecting tools, maintaining knowledge systems, handling errors in automated processes, coordinating content, and preparing summaries, briefings, and trackers.

What you may work on

• Creating automated research processes that produce client intelligence reports
• Building and managing AI-supported communication flows
• Using connected tools for lead research and data gathering
• Keeping the founder’s digital knowledge base and internal processes organised
• Watching over automated systems and fixing issues when they occur
• Coordinating content drafts, scheduling, and distribution
• Preparing briefing notes, summaries, and operational tracking documents

Who will succeed in this role

You do not need a computer science degree or prior maritime experience. What matters more is independent thinking, attention to detail, speed of learning, and the discipline to follow instructions precisely while also improving the output without being asked.

The right candidate is someone who already uses AI tools beyond casual chatting, enjoys figuring things out independently, finishes tasks without repeated reminders, and is comfortable committing to find answers quickly when needed.

You should be outcome-oriented, resourceful, careful with instructions, and able to communicate clearly and warmly in English, both spoken and written. You should also be comfortable using computers confidently in day-to-day work.

Not the right fit if you

• Need highly detailed instructions and follow-up for every task
• Are still uncertain about your career direction
• Think of AI tools only as essay-writing assistants
• Expect rigid department boundaries, fixed standard hours, and annual review-style structures
• Prefer to escalate problems immediately instead of first trying to solve them yourself

What success could look like in 6 months

• You have designed and launched AI automations that run with little or no human intervention
• You have supported a real business’s research, communication, and operations using advanced AI tools
• You have worked directly with a global founder serving clients across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia
• You have developed rare, in-demand skills in AI tooling, business automation, and digital operations

Working conditions

This is a real role with meaningful responsibility from the start; it is not a training programme. Expectations are high, and growth will be fast because the work is demanding and hands-on.

Kolkata is preferred for this opening, but remote work within India may also be considered if the fit is strong.

Core working availability is Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM IST.

Occasional travel may be required for important meetings or events.

Compensation

The fixed salary range is ₹30,000 to ₹40,000 per month, depending on demonstrated capability. In addition, there is a performance incentive of ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 per month tied to delivery milestones.
