Why Join
This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to an innovative, people-focused environment where professional growth is encouraged. The organization emphasizes an inclusive, comfortable workplace and provides strong employee benefits and a culture designed to support both performance and well-being.
Role Overview
The AI Program Manager Intern will help design and run AI-based tools used by the Government and Defense business team in its day-to-day operations. The role is centered on capture intelligence, business development reporting, and AI-assisted proposal development. You will work under the Program Specialist, Government and Defense, with oversight from the Head of Business Development, Government and Defense (U.S.). The team is still building its technology stack, so curiosity and the ability to help shape solutions are more important than expertise in any one tool.
Key Responsibilities
In this internship, you will help convert modern large language model capabilities into practical workflows that are mindful of compliance needs.
- Develop prototype AI tools that scan government websites and related sources for relevant requests for information and proposal notices so opportunities are identified early for capture planning.
- Build and maintain an AI-supported dashboard and stakeholder CRM to monitor pipeline status, KPIs, milestones, and important government, partner, and internal contacts.
- Use LLMs to speed up first drafts and reusable content for government RFI and RFP responses while keeping the output compliance-conscious.
- Research model capabilities, conduct internal knowledge-sharing sessions, and compare government contracting platforms to help guide make-versus-buy decisions.
- Support the Program Specialist with process automation, milestone tracking, documentation, and meeting preparation.
Work Arrangement
The position is mostly remote. However, depending on assignment and task needs, occasional in-person meetings in Atlanta or Phoenix may be required.
Candidate Profile
The ideal intern is either currently pursuing or has recently completed a master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence in Business, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, or a closely related area. The role also calls for several years of relevant experience or an equivalent educational background, along with strong LLM knowledge, good communication skills, and a hands-on mindset.
Required Skills and Capabilities
- Good understanding of modern LLMs such as Claude, GPT, and Gemini, along with prompt design.
- Ability to build dashboards, trackers, or lightweight applications using Excel, BI tools, Python, or no-code/low-code platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
- Proactive problem-solving ability and comfort working in a new team without a defined playbook.
Preferred Background
- Interest in defense or government contracting.
- Exposure to capture or proposal platforms, or Microsoft Copilot.
- Basic Python knowledge.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365.
- German language skills.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Benefits
- Competitive pay based on experience, along with annual or performance-based bonus potential.
- Flexible vacation time plus fifteen additional corporate holidays that can be chosen based on personal preference.
- Employee participation in the Mercedes-Benz car lease program.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus employer-paid short-term and long-term disability.
- On-site exercise facilities.
- Family leave support, including six weeks for new parents and adoption reimbursement of up to $6,000 per child.
- Tuition assistance through a scholarship program of up to $8,000 in vouchers for business-related coursework, including $6,000 for undergraduate study and $8,000 for graduate study.
- Additional offerings mentioned include a 401(k) with match, personal time, Mercedes-Benz car program, employee phone support, employee discounts, health initiatives, employee events, mobility benefits, lifelong learning, employee participation options, flexible working hours, retirement provision, and coaching.
Equal Opportunity Statement
