Role overview
We are seeking an energetic and driven Valeter to join the Motorstore team in Birtley. The role is centered on preparing vehicles to a high presentation standard and suits someone who enjoys active, hands-on work, pays close attention to detail, and works well with others.

Working hours
This is a full-time position with the following schedule: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; and alternate Saturdays, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Key duties
- Prepare sold and stock vehicles to a consistently high standard.
- Wash vehicle exteriors using pressure-washing equipment.
- Vacuum and shampoo interior surfaces using high-powered equipment.
- Use polishing and buffing tools to improve the finish of bodywork.
- Follow health and safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals.
- Keep equipment and machinery in safe working order, report defects promptly, and follow manufacturer guidance and PPE requirements.
- Work to agreed deadlines and performance targets.
- Use an online scheduling system to organise vehicle work.
- Maintain a daily log of completed tasks.
- Assist with other branch tasks as needed.
Skills and experience
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, self-driven, organised, and comfortable working in a busy team environment. Strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, basic computer knowledge, and a full UK driving licence are essential. A willingness to take part in training is also required.
Training and experience
Previous valeting experience is desirable but not mandatory. Full training can be provided to candidates who show strong motivation and meet the other criteria. All new valeting employees will attend the Valet Academy.
