Role Overview
BYD Energy Storage is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to support the on-site setup and upkeep of energy storage equipment in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on keeping systems operating reliably, resolving field issues quickly, and supporting customers throughout the after-sales process.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out on-site installation, commissioning, repair work, and routine maintenance for energy storage systems.
- Respond promptly to technical problems in the field so system downtime is kept to a minimum.
- Assist customers with technical questions and provide product or equipment training when needed.
- Work with the technical support team and R&D to report field feedback and recommend product or process improvements.
- Stay actively engaged with customer after-sales needs to help improve overall satisfaction.
- Follow local safety requirements and internal safety standards whenever performing site-based work.
Required Background
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the power sector or working with high- and low-voltage systems; experience in energy storage is an advantage.
- Practical experience handling installation, commissioning, and maintenance tasks, ideally with energy storage equipment.
- Strong grasp of electrical systems, especially the operating principles behind energy storage solutions.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving ability, including comfort working in high- and low-voltage environments.
- Strong communication and customer handling skills, with the ability to stay effective under pressure.
- Electrical or high-voltage operation certifications are preferred.
- Willingness to travel often and work flexible hours as required.
