Job Purpose
This role is responsible for keeping warehouse and store operations safe, orderly, and accurate, while also handling clerical tasks. The position requires careful control of inventory and safe management of chemicals to reduce risk and stay aligned with safety and regulatory expectations.
Key Accountabilities
Receiving and Inspection of Materials
- Check incoming goods against the relevant paperwork and ensure they match company requirements.
- Inspect received items physically to spot any damage, breakage, or quality issues.
- Use inspection instruments such as calipers and micrometers to confirm dimensions and specification compliance.
- Detect defects, raise discrepancy reports, and support the resolution of material mismatches.
- Confirm that deliveries arrive with the needed documents, including delivery notes and packing lists, and validate them against CAPS/MSDS online systems for approvals such as MTC, SDS, and COA certificates.
- Attach hazard labels and full details to received chemicals.
- Handle cylinders in the designated area, coordinate with vendors on mismatches, arrange empty cylinders properly, and follow up on returns to suppliers.
- For items with expiry or shelf-life limits, verify that the remaining shelf life is acceptable at receipt and record the details in the system.
- Carry out receiving, inspection, and documentation work accurately and on time for all incoming deliveries.
- Liaise with local freight forwarders, contractors, and suppliers on day-to-day material deliveries.
Storage, Binning, and Issuing
- Use inbound documentation to place materials in the correct bay, bin, or storage location.
- Arrange for forklift support, manpower, and equipment based on the type and handling needs of the goods.
- Apply the correct labels to cartons and pallets, and complete system entries promptly to maintain traceability.
- Ensure all materials are preserved correctly, tagged, labelled, and stored securely in assigned locations.
- Follow the storage and preservation standards defined in MM or recommended by the end user or supplier.
- Review material request forms and issue slips to confirm that all required details are complete before release.
- Physically identify the requested items, verify them with the requester, and mark them for issue.
- Record transactions in the system, note the applicable document number, and archive paperwork in the proper files.
- Maintain stock and inventory control records for all warehouse materials.
- Track all movements of incoming and outgoing materials to keep records accurate.
- Inform the supervisor when binning changes are required due to overflow and ensure the relevant section is updated.
Housekeeping and Store Maintenance
- Keep the store area clean, organized, and properly maintained.
- Follow established store management safety requirements at all times.
- Use lifting equipment, hand trucks, and jacks to unload, move, and store materials when needed.
Policies, Systems, Processes, and Procedures
- Support ongoing improvements to systems, processes, and work practices to improve productivity and operational performance.
- Apply the section’s policies, procedures, processes, and instructions consistently and in a controlled manner.
Quality, Health, Security, Safety, and Environment
- Follow all relevant quality, health, safety, security, and environmental controls and regulatory requirements to protect employees and support service quality.
Reporting
- Help prepare accurate and timely reports as required by the department.
Qatarization
- Support the development of Qatari employees. This applies only to expatriate employees.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates may qualify through one of the following combinations:
- High school/secondary education (12th grade, or 10th grade plus vocational qualification) with at least 5 years of relevant warehouse experience in the oil and gas sector.
- 2-year diploma in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field with at least 4 years of relevant oil and gas warehouse experience.
- 3-year diploma in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant oil and gas warehouse experience.
Additional Requirements
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Ability to use SAP modules.
