Role overview
City Centre Rotana Doha is seeking an energetic, self-driven Recreation Manager to take charge of the leisure club operation. The role is centered on running the facility end to end, planning the department’s annual budget based on operating costs, and ensuring a high standard of service for members and guests.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the full day-to-day operation of the leisure club facilities.
- Maintain strong membership levels and monitor them on an ongoing basis.
- Make sure all team members are trained in line with required standards.
- Arrange fitness assessments for members and provide each person with a tailored exercise plan, including guidance on correct use and safety.
- Source and work with specialist instructors, such as tennis or water sports coaches, ensuring they hold the right professional credentials and have strong people skills.
- Keep all spaces in excellent, clean, and hygienic condition, including locker rooms and shower areas.
- Ensure strict compliance with food hygiene, health, and safety rules, and implement any required legislation.
- Supervise food and beverage outlets within the health, fitness, and recreation areas so they run efficiently.
- Stay informed about new trends, methods, and equipment in sports and fitness, and advise management where improvements are needed.
- Plan and deliver sports and social events for guests and members, taking their preferences and feedback into account.
Education and experience
The preferred candidate will hold a degree in sport or leisure and have prior experience in the same role within an international hotel setting. Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken, are essential. The role also requires the ability to support sales efforts, help increase revenue, solve problems effectively, and work confidently with computers.
