Role Overview
This full-time, on-site Project Manager position is based in the Omaha Metropolitan Area. The role is responsible for guiding excavation and utility-related projects from the planning stage through final completion. The position requires hands-on coordination of schedules, budgets, scope, resources, site activity, and documentation while keeping communication clear between crews, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams.
Key Duties
- Lead projects through all phases, from defining the scope to final closeout.
- Create and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinate field crews and subcontractors to keep work moving efficiently.
- Track project progress and address site issues as they come up.
- Make sure safety expectations and quality standards are followed on every job.
- Review plans, specifications, and related project documents.
- Support inspection activities and help resolve inspection-related issues.
- Maintain accurate project records, reports, and other documentation.
- Keep clients and internal stakeholders informed about progress, risks, and changes.
- Work with logistics and procurement teams to confirm materials, equipment, and permits are available on time.
Qualifications
- Background in construction or excavation project leadership, with solid project management capability.
- Hands-on experience with expediting tasks to help materials, equipment, and services arrive when needed.
- Familiarity with inspection workflows, including coordinating site checks and quality reviews.
- Logistics planning skills for scheduling crews, equipment, and materials effectively.
- Experience in civil construction, excavation, utilities, or a closely related field.
- Good understanding of jobsite safety rules and applicable regulations.
- Strong organization, problem-solving, and time management abilities, including handling several workstreams at once.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with crews, clients, inspectors, and leadership.
- Comfort using project management and construction software for scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience is also acceptable.
