Role overview
Abunayyan Holding is seeking a Project Engineer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for its business unit serving the pump manufacturing and engineering solutions space. This position owns assigned projects end-to-end, starting from order receipt and continuing through execution, delivery, invoicing, and final closure.
The role is accountable for delivering projects in line with contract commitments, customer expectations, quality requirements, budget targets, and overall profitability goals. The person in this role will be the main contact for customers as well as internal teams, keeping activities aligned, tracking progress, handling risk and scope changes, and helping ensure on-time delivery and strong customer satisfaction.
Project management and execution
- Take charge of assigned projects across the full lifecycle, ensuring delivery meets the agreed technical, commercial, financial, and contractual terms.
- Join contract review discussions so that requirements are fully understood and shared clearly with the wider organization.
- Lead project kickoff coordination and make sure all stakeholders are aligned on scope, deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities.
- Track progress closely and resolve issues that could affect schedule, cost, quality, or client satisfaction.
- Handle export orders and work with relevant departments to keep execution and delivery moving smoothly.
Customer relationship management
- Serve as the customer’s primary contact during project delivery.
- Communicate professionally and promptly on project updates, technical clarifications, delivery matters, inspections, and contractual points.
- Develop strong client relationships that support satisfaction and repeat business.
- Coordinate inspections, approvals, and acceptance activities with customers.
Change control and risk management
- Track scope changes and ensure they are properly documented, assessed, approved, and implemented.
- Identify possible variation order opportunities and change-claim recovery items, and submit them on time.
- Take part in project risk reviews and apply mitigation actions to reduce commercial, technical, and operational exposure.
- Work with Sales, Commercial, Finance, and Management to control project risks effectively.
Financial and margin control
- Monitor budgets, project spend, and profitability throughout execution.
- Support efforts to protect or improve project margins.
- Ensure work stays within approved budget boundaries and financial targets.
- Coordinate with Finance and Sales on invoicing, collections, bank guarantees, and letters of credit.
- Support cash flow by helping ensure billing and receivables are handled on time.
Planning, reporting, and documentation
- Prepare and maintain schedules, progress updates, dashboards, and management reports.
- Run regular project review meetings and share updates on performance, risks, actions, and milestones.
- Follow through on deliverables to make sure contractual commitments are met.
- Create detailed reporting for export orders, invoicing progress, project closure, and performance reviews.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
SAP and systems usage
- Use SAP and related systems effectively for project management tasks.
- Keep project data, documents, reports, and transaction records accurate within SAP.
- Support improvement efforts related to project systems and workflows.
Continuous improvement and compliance
- Promote strong practices in project management, planning, risk handling, and operational excellence.
- Follow company policies, procedures, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
- Contribute to initiatives that improve execution efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and experience
A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another related engineering discipline is required. The role calls for 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in Project Engineering, Project Coordination, Project Management, or Order Management within manufacturing, engineering, pumps, rotating equipment, or industrial environments.
Applicants should have experience handling customer projects, contract execution, and commercial coordination. Exposure to export projects and international customer handling is preferred.
Technical knowledge
The role requires understanding of project management principles, manufacturing and engineering processes, pumps, motors, and control panels, contract administration, scheduling and planning, change order handling, risk assessment and mitigation, budget and cost control, SAP ERP systems, supply chain and logistics coordination, and cash flow/commercial management.
