Role Overview
Supply Ontario is hiring two Procurement Consultants for a permanent full-time role based in Toronto. In this position, you will support enterprise-wide vendor of record arrangements across a wide range of goods and services, helping ministries and government partners meet their program delivery needs.
You will provide strategic procurement guidance, lead end-to-end procurement activities, and help ensure all work is carried out in line with applicable policies, trade agreements, and established best practices.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead analysis and provide guidance on supply and market matters, business practices, category management, and contract management.
- Offer subject-matter expertise across specific categories, commodities, and services while anticipating future requirements.
- Support senior team members with category work and procurement strategy development, including continuous improvement initiatives.
- Help plan, develop, and roll out procurement policies, procedures, standards, and operational guidelines.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of category management, purchasing, contracting policies, procedures, and agreements.
- Working knowledge of supply markets, potential partners, and service providers to support the development and administration of RFX processes.
- Ability to liaise with stakeholders and manage contracts, including coordinating contract administration tasks.
- Experience developing and reviewing supplier performance measures.
- Capability to act as a central point of contact for vendor management and relationship handling.
- Ability to assess trends in goods and services, interpret changing client needs, and advise on supply issues.
- Skill in reviewing contracts and policies, as well as evaluating supplier performance.
- Ability to help mediate and resolve vendor and supply chain risks or disputes.
- Experience coordinating the operational side of contracts and supplier agreements.
- Ability to support category and commodity needs assessment groups and procurement-related projects.
- Strong organization and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to prepare briefing notes, guidance materials, and contract user documents.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder partnership skills.
- Comfort advising clients on contract terms, procedures, and service details.
Additional Details
This is a permanent full-time position in the Operations function at 200 Front Street W, Toronto, Ontario. The role falls under the AMAPCEO bargaining unit and is classified as Job Code 5A004. The standard work schedule is 36.25 hours per week.
The salary range for this position is $76,231 to $109,842 per year. The posting is open because of vacancies.
