Role overview
This position focuses on process engineering for plasma-based dry-chemical structuring used in optoelectronic component manufacturing. The role combines process development, optimization, technology transfer, and collaboration with development and frontend engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, improve, and fine-tune plasma processes on advanced systems used for dry-chemical structuring of optoelectronic parts.
- Plan, run, evaluate, and document plasma process development work from start to finish.
- Support ongoing process enhancement and help advance next-generation VCSEL and photodiode technologies.
- Train production teams and help move process developments into international manufacturing settings.
- Work closely with development groups and adjacent frontend engineering functions.
- Research and assess emerging technologies through external scouting to strengthen manufacturing capabilities.
Requirements
- A completed university degree at master’s or diploma level in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a similar discipline.
- Practical knowledge of plasma technology.
- Background in modern semiconductor device manufacturing and/or optoelectronics.
- Understanding of statistical process control.
- A self-directed, solution-focused, and accountable working approach.
- Strong collaboration skills and clear communication abilities.
- Very good spoken and written English.
