Planning Engineer

About the Role

An opportunity is open for an experienced Planning Engineer to join a Dubai-based team and strengthen project planning performance. The role focuses on keeping projects on track, within scope, and aligned with wider business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and revise detailed project timelines using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to keep schedules and deliverables aligned.
• Track project performance, spot potential risks, and suggest practical mitigation measures.
• Build and share planning reports, dashboards, and forecasting updates with senior leadership and clients.
• Handle planning activities through tendering, execution, and project close-out stages.
• Blend cost and resource inputs into schedules to support earned value analysis.
• Perform delay analysis and assist with claim preparation whenever required.
• Guide junior planners and help improve planning workflows and best practices.

Qualifications

The ideal applicant should hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar discipline, along with at least 7 years of relevant project planning experience. Background in large construction or engineering projects is preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel.
• Solid grasp of project management principles and construction methods.
• Exposure to EPC projects is an advantage.
• Knowledge of contracts and claims handling is beneficial.
• Familiarity with BIM and 4D planning would be useful.
• PMP or PMI-SP certification is a plus.
