Dexcom’s long-term goal is to evolve into a leading consumer health technology company while continuing to build solutions for serious health conditions through continuous reinvention of biosensing technology experiences.About the TeamYou will join the Engineering Tools team, which supports multidisciplinary engineering groups by handling CAD design, drafting, PLM coordination, and technical documentation for product research and development.Role OverviewAs a Mechanical CAD Designer, you will contribute to the design and drafting of components, fixtures, and assemblies using tools such as SolidWorks and Onshape. The role also involves drawing release support, CAD administration, documentation control, and collaboration with engineers, quality, manufacturing, and IT stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with CAD design and drafting work in SolidWorks and Onshape for injection-molded parts, fixtures, and electro-mechanical assemblies.Prepare, update, and release drawing packages in the PLM environment while maintaining accuracy and completeness.Follow QMS procedures and support continuous improvement in documentation and engineering workflows.Carry out CAD administration tasks such as drawing review, approval tracking, and enforcement of modeling, drafting, and data standards.Identify and resolve issues in CAD models and drawings by working closely with engineering teams.Help maintain and improve CAD libraries, templates, and standard practices used across teams.Support migration efforts from SolidWorks to Onshape and contribute to smooth adoption of new CAD processes.RequirementsPractical experience with SolidWorks, including part modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings; experience with SolidWorks PDM or another PDM/PLM platform is preferred.Background in mechanical design and drafting for hardware products, especially injection-molded parts, fixtures, and electro-mechanical assemblies.Training or education in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field.Understanding of drawing release processes, configuration control, and documentation practices in regulated or quality-focused settings.Strong communication and problem-solving abilities to work effectively with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and IT partners.Interest in improving processes through standardization, efficiency, and automation.Onshape experience is an added advantage, particularly in environments moving away from traditional CAD tools, and exposure to CAD migration activities is beneficial.Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 3 to 5 years of related experience, or a master’s degree with 2 years of equivalent industry experience, or a PhD with 0 to 2 years of experience.Travel may be required up to 0 to 5%.BenefitsOpportunity to work closely with CGM technology that has a meaningful impact on people’s lives.Access to a complete benefits program.Career growth opportunities on a global scale.Learning and development support through in-house programs and/or eligible tuition reimbursement.Exposure to an innovative, industry-leading company that values employees, customers, and community impact.Additional InformationThe employer does not accept unsolicited resumes or applications from staffing or recruiting agencies.
