About the Company
Founded in 1987, the Composers and Authors Society of Singapore (COMPASS) represents composers, authors, and music publishers. Operating as a collective management organisation, it manages music copyright licensing in Singapore and is part of an international network that protects and promotes the interests of music creators.
Role Overview
Working under the Licensing Manager, this position sits on the front line of the music licensing team and is focused on ensuring licences are issued on time and compliance requirements are met.
The job includes answering licensing enquiries, handling applications, tracking unresolved matters, and supporting follow-up actions related to compliance. There may also be occasional visits to external sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Work toward licensing targets established by management.
- Handle a portfolio of existing and prospective music users, covering applications, renewals, and follow-up actions.
- Respond to music licensing and copyright questions through phone calls, emails, and in-person walk-ins.
- Review licence applications, work out licence fees, and pursue payment follow-ups.
- Carry out site visits when needed and compile simple reports.
- Take on additional tasks assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- A diploma is required; degree holders may also apply, and applicants with relevant experience may be offered a more senior title.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills are essential.
- Must be able to manage cases and challenging situations with calmness, tact, and consistent follow-through.
- Should be comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role is an advantage.
- Knowledge of additional languages or dialects is helpful.
Additional Information
Applicants should be prepared for occasional on-site visits as part of the role.
