IT Manager

About the Role

This position is for an experienced IT Manager to take ownership of the company’s technology environment. The role focuses on keeping IT services dependable, secure, and efficient so they continue to support day-to-day operations and wider business goals. You will guide IT initiatives, oversee infrastructure and support functions, and champion ongoing improvements across the technology stack.

Leadership and Team Management

• Direct and support IT staff in their routine work and daily priorities.
• Coach team members and help them grow through guidance and development opportunities.
• Build a cooperative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.

Infrastructure and Systems

• Take charge of the upkeep, performance, and protection of the IT infrastructure.
• Put in place strong backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity arrangements, and verify them regularly.
• Introduce technology improvements that strengthen resilience and reduce system downtime.
• Use established industry standards and best practices to lower operational and security exposure.

Software and Applications

• Handle software licensing, renewal cycles, and compliance obligations.
• Track application performance and suggest enhancements when needed.
• Spot technology risks and create practical mitigation plans.

Asset Management

• Keep accurate records of IT equipment, warranties, licences, and lifecycle details.
• Set up and monitor processes for new purchases, renewals, and disposal of assets.

Budget and Vendor Management

• Manage the IT budget and make sure technology procurement remains cost-effective.
• Develop strong working relationships with vendors and external service providers.
• Review suppliers regularly to confirm service quality and value for money.

IT Support and Service Delivery

• Ensure users receive prompt, reliable, and high-quality IT support.
• Create and maintain support processes that align with agreed service levels.
• Communicate maintenance plans, service disruptions, and technology updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Respond quickly to critical issues that affect business priorities.

Documentation and Knowledge Management

• Develop and maintain IT procedures, documentation, and knowledge resources.
• Capture technical know-how and make it accessible across the team.

Technology Improvement and Innovation

• Keep up with new technologies and developments in the industry.
• Assess and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, security, and business performance.
• Ensure business systems stay current, compliant, and suitable for their purpose.

Training and User Enablement

• Organize and deliver user training on core business systems and IT best practices.
• Encourage effective use of technology throughout the organization.
• Support onboarding by ensuring new joiners receive the right IT induction and guidance.

Experience and Profile

• Demonstrated background in IT management or a senior IT leadership position.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, cloud services, and business applications.
• Experience handling IT budgets, vendors, and third-party providers.
• Strong ability in problem-solving, planning, and project coordination.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management capability.
• Experience creating policies, procedures, and IT governance structures.
• IT certifications and relevant qualifications are a plus.
