Role Summary

This position is ideal for someone who is motivated by delivering outstanding guest experiences through high standards of cleanliness, service quality, and team leadership. As Housekeeping Supervisor, you will help guide the housekeeping function and ensure the department operates to an excellent standard every day.

Key Duties

• Oversee room checks, daily task allocation, and the smooth running of housekeeping activities.
• Keep stock levels controlled and coordinate linen and laundry processes efficiently.
• Work closely with Front Office and Maintenance teams so rooms are ready on time.
• Address guest needs promptly and manage VIP room preparations with attention and urgency.
• Induct, coach, and support new team members while helping build a positive workplace culture.
• Resolve guest and employee concerns professionally, and lead morning huddles and team briefings.
• Help manage costs by using resources carefully and responsibly.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of supervisory or team leader experience in hotel housekeeping or accommodation services.
• Strong interpersonal skills and confident communication ability.
• Capacity to stay effective under pressure while balancing several priorities at once.
• Comfort working as part of a multicultural team.
• Good understanding of hygiene standards, safety practices, and manual handling procedures.
• Must be eligible to work in New Zealand.

Compensation and Working Details

The pay rate is NZD 31.52 per hour. This is a full-time position with 30 hours per week, based at Novotel Queenstown Lakeside, 6 Earl Street.
