Fitting Tailor

Role Overview

As a Fitting Tailor in Dubai, you will help deliver the brand’s promise of an exceptional fit experience, combining couture-level tailoring with attentive client care. The role focuses on ensuring that each alteration preserves the original design intent while adapting the garment precisely to the individual client.

You will work closely with Fashion Advisors and other boutique stakeholders to create smooth, memorable fitting appointments. The position also plays a key part in the ready-to-wear service journey and in strengthening the tailoring experience across the boutique.

Environment and Reporting Line

This position sits within the tailoring community and supports the boutique’s ready-to-wear and client service operations. You will report to the RTW Sales Manager and work in coordinated alignment with the CHANEL&moi RTW & Ecole de la Retouche team in Paris. Collaboration with boutique leadership, operations, care and repair, and regional tailoring teams is an important part of the job.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day work will center on high-precision alterations, client fittings, and maintaining a premium service experience from start to finish.

• Carry out tailoring interventions that achieve a flawless and discreet fit, regardless of garment complexity or client body shape.
• Review garment construction, detect fit issues or irregularities, and determine the most suitable alteration approach.
• Apply CHANEL-specific fitting methods, including flat pinning and ribbon techniques, to ensure comfort, accuracy, and movement during fittings.
• Use careful measuring, sewing precision, mirror work, and close quality checks throughout the alteration process.
• Share tailoring know-how with boutique teams, trainees, and newly joined tailors to help preserve the House’s craftsmanship standards.
• Build trusted client relationships through attentive listening, observation, and clear explanation of each adjustment.
• Anticipate expectations, read non-verbal feedback, and help clients feel confident and reassured during fittings.
• Partner with Fashion Advisors to deliver seamless fitting appointments, including VIC visits and special events.
• Maintain the House’s styling language and use your knowledge of the brand’s design codes to enrich each fitting experience.
• Stay aware of competitor collections and silhouettes to better understand client preferences and highlight the differences of the Maison’s tailoring approach.
• Support the ready-to-wear area whenever needed, especially during collection launches or quieter atelier periods.
• Manage alteration services and related tools end to end, while helping improve the overall client journey.
• Use digital tools and KPI information to monitor activity and contribute to action plans that strengthen performance.
• Help streamline atelier workflows, coordinate effectively with boutique teams, and act as a voice for tailoring within the boutique.
• Share feedback and ideas to support the continuous development of the ready-to-wear tailoring program.
