About the role
The Estimator position is based in Forest Glen, Queensland, and supports the QLD sales team. Working in a busy, target-driven environment, you will prepare precise quotes for made-to-order products, respond to customer needs, and help convert opportunities into confirmed sales. The role is supported by an experienced team of estimators and sales professionals.
Key duties
- Review commercial construction drawings and work out the correct door types and quantities needed for each project.
- Spot discrepancies between architectural drawings and door or finishing schedules.
- Advise customers on suitable door options that meet functional and project requirements.
- Handle incoming leads, customer RFIs, and RFQs promptly so opportunities are progressed effectively.
- Support sales objectives by following up quotations carefully and working with the BDM to close deals.
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with current and prospective customers to help grow market presence.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service at every stage.
- Keep the CRM system current and accurate.
- Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and relevant industry events when required.
About you
You should bring technical aptitude and an ability to understand how construction elements fit together, particularly in a building environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, enthusiastic, and comfortable discussing solutions with customers in a B2B setting. A positive attitude, energy, and a consultative approach to selling are essential.
Additional requirements
- At least 2 years of estimating experience.
- Working knowledge of construction materials, especially frames such as pressed metal, timber jambs, and cavity sliding, as well as doors including timber, fire-rated, and acoustic products.
- Ability to interpret information from plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for dealing with management, clients, specifiers, and subcontractors.
- High attention to detail and good capability with Microsoft Windows-based tools.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Strong planning, organisation, time management, and prioritisation skills.
- Experience in manufacturing and sales will be an advantage.
