Role Overview
This position is responsible for overseeing Environment, Health, and Safety operations at a construction site. The goal is to ensure full alignment with legal obligations, client standards, and internal safety procedures, while reducing accidents, limiting environmental harm, and strengthening safety awareness across all project work.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare, execute, and continuously review the project’s EHS management plan.
- Make sure all activities comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including the Factory Act, BOCW Act, environmental rules, and similar standards.
- Carry out hazard identification and risk assessments such as HIRA and JSA for project activities.
- Review and approve method statements while confirming that required safety controls are included.
- Perform routine site safety checks and formal audits on a daily basis.
- Oversee higher-risk operations including heavy lifting, gantry launching, traffic diversion work, and night-time activities.
- Drive performance toward zero fatalities and the lowest possible Lost Time Injury rate.
- Examine accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to determine what happened and why.
- Carry out root cause analysis and ensure corrective as well as preventive actions are put in place.
- Track accident data and compile monthly EHS reports.
