Deli Assistant

Role Overview

The Deli Assistant will be responsible for preparing fresh hot and cold deli items to a high standard while placing customer satisfaction at the centre of every task.

Clongriffin, Dublin 13, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.

Compensation

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare customer orders across the fresh food counters, including making sandwiches and rolls, serving hot foods, and slicing meats in line with the store’s portion-control standards.
• Cook, assemble, and present food items sold throughout the day.
• Keep deli and fresh food displays looking their best and maintained to a consistently high standard during trading hours.
• Show enthusiasm for quality food by offering product knowledge, recipe ideas, and tailored recommendations to shoppers.
• Handle customer questions and requests promptly, professionally, and according to store procedures.
• Work in a way that reflects the Centra values: Proud, Energetic, Imaginative, and Community-Based.

Candidate Profile

• HACCP training is preferred but not essential.
• Strong verbal communication skills are needed.
• Prior experience in customer service would be an advantage.
• You should be comfortable working in a busy, high-pressure environment and able to juggle multiple tasks at once.
• A genuine interest in food and the ability to enthuse customers is important.

Additional Information

This is a full-time position only and is not appropriate for part-time or summer work.
