Role overview
We are looking for a practical, hands-on DataHub Consultant to support the design, implementation, and tuning of our metadata management platform based on the open-source DataHub ecosystem. This part-time role will focus on building strong foundations for metadata discovery, lineage, and ingestion so that our data assets remain easy to find, reliable, and governed well.
What you'll do
- Help set up, configure, deploy, and maintain DataHub environments using Docker or Kubernetes, with attention to stable performance.
- Build automated metadata ingestion workflows from systems such as Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Kafka, Postgres, and BI tools.
- Set up and verify end-to-end lineage so data movement can be traced clearly from origin to consumption.
- Support governance and cataloging by creating metadata structures, business glossaries, tags, and terms inside DataHub.
- Prepare documentation and run short training sessions for internal data teams and business users on effective DataHub usage.
What we're looking for
- Solid, proven experience working with DataHub or Acryl DataHub in deployment, setup, and day-to-day administration.
- Strong capability in Python and metadata ingestion frameworks for data integration tasks.
- Comfort with the modern data stack, including dbt, Snowflake, Airflow, Kafka, and Docker/Kubernetes.
- Understanding of data governance, cataloging, business glossaries, and lineage tracking concepts.
- Ability to explain technical metadata topics clearly to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience using DataHub GraphQL APIs for custom integrations or user interface enhancements.
- Contributions or active participation in the DataHub open-source community.
- Exposure to data quality tools and frameworks such as Great Expectations.
