Role Summary
The butcher will prepare, cut, and process different types of meat and poultry to support the restaurant’s day-to-day kitchen needs. This full-time, on-site position in Abu Dhabi includes trimming, dividing portions, grinding, and marinating meats according to menu requirements. The role also covers correct storage, labeling, and stock rotation to maintain freshness and food safety. The butcher will keep the workspace clean and orderly, work closely with kitchen and grill teams, and may occasionally respond to questions from team members or guests about products or preparation methods.
Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, and portion meat to match restaurant standards and menu needs.
- Prepare poultry carefully while maintaining cleanliness, safety, and consistent portion sizes.
- Grind, marinate, and ready meats for cooking and service.
- Store, label, and rotate meat and poultry stock properly to preserve freshness and safety.
- Follow food hygiene practices, safety rules, and HACCP-based handling procedures.
- Keep butcher tools and the workstation clean, organized, and ready for use.
- Coordinate with kitchen and grill staff to ensure timely support for service.
- Assist with product or preparation questions from team members or guests when required.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in butchery or meat processing, with the ability to cut, trim, and portion different meat cuts.
- Practical skill in handling and preparing poultry with a focus on cleanliness and accuracy.
- Working knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP principles, and proper meat, poultry, and seafood storage.
- Strong attention to detail and the stamina to work in a busy kitchen environment.
- Ability to collaborate with kitchen and service teams in a fast-paced setting.
- Prior experience in a butcher role, restaurant, supermarket, or meat processing facility is preferred.
- Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
