Overview
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys coaching a team and raising the standard of the in-store customer experience. As Assistant Manager, you will help lead all major store functions, including operations, staff development, team management, visual merchandising, and asset protection. When the Store Manager is away, you will step into full managerial responsibility. Success in this position is measured by your ability to improve sales performance and help the store reach its profit targets.
The position is for an existing opening, and artificial intelligence is not used to screen, evaluate, or choose candidates.
Responsibilities
- Guide and energize the team so they can achieve stronger sales while delivering excellent service.
- Build customer satisfaction by staying knowledgeable about the full product range and collaborating with colleagues to provide great support.
- Meet expectations for sales performance, customer experience, merchandising, store presentation, and day-to-day operations.
- Serve as a link between shoppers, sales associates, and store leadership.
- Learn product details and market trends, then use that knowledge to match customer needs.
- Keep up to date on all product information as well as current and upcoming items and trends.
- Help maintain a workplace culture that is positive, supportive, and inclusive.
Requirements
- Proven leadership skills with at least 1 year of experience in a customer-facing sales environment.
- Comfort and confidence in approaching customers and creating a high-quality shopping experience.
- Strong motivation to deliver results, especially in a retail setting focused on athletic products.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-moving omni-channel retail business.
- Self-starter who can complete tasks independently with minimal supervision.
- Well-developed reasoning, numerical, problem-solving, decision-making, and financial analysis skills.
- Strong personal ethics, integrity, trustworthiness, and values.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
