About the Company
This role sits within Lids’ retail environment and supports the store’s day-to-day performance, customer experience, and operational standards.
Role Summary
The 3rd Key position is responsible for helping drive sales, maintaining store standards, controlling costs, and supporting store leadership with daily operations and associate supervision.
Sales and Customer Experience
- Boost store sales by delivering strong customer service.
- Work toward or surpass company targets across individual performance measures.
- Provide clear, ongoing feedback on sales performance and coach associates on strengths and improvement areas while staying aligned with company goals.
- Follow approved visual presentation standards, including merchandising, signage, and cleanliness.
- Maintain a polished professional appearance in line with the dress code.
Cost Control and Store Operations
- Help protect company assets in accordance with Lids retail policies.
- Support store scheduling so staffing levels are adequate and wage controls stay within guidelines.
- Manage inventory processes accurately, including receiving, transfers, price changes, and product counts.
- Complete records and documentation according to company rules and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Open and close the store as needed, following the Operations P&P Manual.
- Comply with all Lids policies, procedures, and operating guidelines.
Team Supervision
- Take part in company training programs and follow up consistently on sales and task goals.
- Help recruit and train store staff on proper store procedures and operations.
- Promote employee adherence to company rules, including inventory, funds, and property protection.
- Step in to perform subordinate duties when required.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Handle additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skills
The position calls for a high school diploma or equivalent, plus at least one year of related experience. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to deliver sales results while limiting loss, communicate clearly and professionally, operate a computer and related software, lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work with hands overhead, and remain on their feet for up to the full workday. The ability to work without supervision is also required.
