Position overview
For the Kiel site, DB InfraGO AG is looking for a Weichenwärter:in (w/m/d) starting as soon as possible. The role is based at Kiel Central Station and focuses on safe, punctual railway operations.
Your responsibilities
- Ensure that shunting movements at the Kiel signal box are carried out safely and on time.
- Coordinate closely with colleagues at adjacent signal boxes, train drivers, and control centers.
- Set up the full route for train movements, including points, tracks, and signals.
- Work in line with the applicable railway regulations, local rules, operational instructions, and written orders, while keeping proper records.
- Issue, receive, pass on, and document operational messages and instructions.
- Monitor the track area and arrange line closures whenever disruptions occur.
Your profile
- You already hold training as a Weichenwärter:in and, ideally, have experience with electromechanical systems.
- You must be fully fit for operational service and shift work without restrictions.
- Sound knowledge of railway infrastructure and how railway operations interact is desirable.
- You work well with others and bring a cooperative, team-oriented approach.
- You are physically resilient, including in demanding and high-pressure situations.
- You are mobile, adaptable, and able to assert yourself when needed.
