Trainer

About the Role

Silver Fern Farms in Takapau is seeking an energetic, people-oriented Trainer to join the team. This position suits someone who enjoys helping others learn to do their work safely, confidently, and in line with regulatory compliance requirements.

You will work closely with new and existing staff through onboarding and on-the-job training, coordinating with departmental Group Leaders and managers to support training delivery. The role is best suited to someone who sees training as more than instruction alone, and values communication and engagement as much as technical know-how.

Work hours are generally from 6:00am to 3:30pm. Two openings are available: one day shift role from 6:00am to 3:30pm, and one split-shift role with hours from 10:00am to 8:00pm. Applicants should mention their preferred shift in their cover letter.

About You

The company is looking for someone with a strong people focus, excellent communication skills, and the ability to support a range of training activities. You should be comfortable working with systems and processes, be highly organised, and be able to make practical decisions quickly when needed.

Experience in training or development is preferred, and prior knowledge of the operational needs of a modern meat processing environment would be an advantage. Accurate and complete training documentation is essential in this role, and training should where possible align with industry unit standards.
