Technical Studies Engineer

About the role

Within VINCI Construction France’s Civil Engineering division, and more specifically the Soils and Foundations business unit, Botte Fondations supports clients across France with a wide range of special foundation projects.

As part of the technical design office and reporting to the Design Office Director, you will work closely with branch teams, construction teams, and all other project stakeholders.

You will contribute to the technical studies for special foundation and retaining structure projects. Your work will span both large-scale developments and medium-sized assignments, with technical input throughout the full project lifecycle.

What you will do

• Review project files to understand client needs, technical constraints, and site execution sequences.
• Develop and design technical solutions tailored to the requirements of special foundations and retaining structures.
• Prepare execution calculations for works such as piles, pile-supported retaining systems, diaphragm walls, and other special foundation techniques.
• Monitor technical approvals with control offices and external organizations.
• Draft technical reports summarizing studies, analyses, and recommendations for project teams and management.
• Supervise and review the work of the draftsperson responsible for preparing and issuing execution drawings.
• Coordinate technically with site teams to ensure smooth communication and effective implementation of the selected solutions.
• Track projects technically and incorporate any changes or adjustments during execution.
• Maintain an active watch on new methods, standards, and regulations relevant to the business.
• Carry out post-study feedback reviews to support continuous improvement of company practices and methods.

Stakeholder interaction

You will be the main point of contact for site teams and project owners/consultants.

Candidate profile

You should be a graduate of an engineering school such as ENSG, ESTP, INSA, or equivalent. A solid background in civil engineering is expected, along with an initial experience in a geotechnical or structural design office. This experience should have given you a good foundation in geotechnics and reinforced concrete structural calculations.

A strong interest in technical work is essential. You should be comfortable using geotechnical and structural calculation tools and demonstrate strong analytical and synthesis skills.

Rigor, responsiveness, and the ability to adapt to projects that vary widely in scope are also key to success in this role.
