This is a project-based opportunity with Mindrift, where specialists collaborate on AI-related assignments for leading technology companies. The work focuses on evaluating, testing, and helping improve AI systems. This is not a permanent job; participation is arranged per project.

What the work may include

Each assignment can differ, but contributors may be asked to build original computational statistics tasks that resemble genuine mathematical research workflows. The role can involve creating Python-based problems using libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and SymPy, and ensuring the tasks are computationally demanding enough that they cannot be solved manually in a practical timeframe. You may also need to create challenges that require layered reasoning in areas such as number theory, combinatorics, graph theory, and numerical analysis. In addition, tasks should be grounded in real research questions or practical mathematical use cases, verified with Python and standard math libraries, and documented with clear problem statements plus confirmed correct solutions.

Profile sought

This opportunity suits statistics professionals with Python experience who are open to part-time, non-permanent project work. A background in statistics or a related discipline is preferred. Strong English writing ability is important, and prior professional, research, or teaching experience of at least two years is desirable. Certifications and experience on international or applied projects can be an added advantage.

How the process works

The usual sequence is: apply, complete the qualification stage, join a project, finish assigned tasks, and receive payment.

Working time and compensation

During active phases, the expected workload is around 10 to 20 hours per week. This is only an estimate and not a fixed guarantee. Pay can reach the equivalent of $50 per hour, depending on the contributor’s pace and level of contribution. Compensation may differ from project to project based on scope, difficulty, and expertise requirements.
