Senior Business Project Developer

Role overview

The Senior Business Project Developer supports the business and project development functions by delivering project engineering assistance. The position focuses on creating process flow sheets, preparing proposals and cost estimates, and contributing technical and commercial input during discussions with prospective customers. It also involves developing durable relationships with both internal teams and external clients by understanding their business priorities and helping execute system assurance programs. Strong emotional intelligence is essential for success in this role.

Key responsibilities

• Study and interpret customer needs across industrial water applications in sectors such as light industry, heavy industry, paper, mining, and downstream operations.
• Work closely with the sales team to meet clients, run discovery discussions, and confirm requirements.
• Support solution design by defining scope, carrying out basic sizing calculations, and coordinating with multiple vendors to determine the most competitive benchmark pricing.
• Collaborate with Business Development Managers and Corporate Account Managers to present value propositions, address objections, and participate in techno-commercial negotiations.
• Deliver project engineering support after order placement by completing the Basic Engineering Package.
• Provide technical and commercial assistance in meetings with prospective clients.

Requirements

• Engineering degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering.
• 12 to 15 years of experience handling end-to-end design and proposal preparation for wastewater equipment and systems.
• Hands-on background in clarification, filtration, membrane solids separation, metals removal, biological treatment, and ZLD solutions for industrial customers.
• Strong technical knowledge of wastewater system design and membrane technologies, especially for reuse and recycling projects.
• Familiarity with modern membrane systems and regulatory-driven zero liquid discharge projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to form and maintain long-term customer relationships.
• High emotional intelligence.
• Capacity to work to demanding timelines across a large geography such as MEA.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
• Preferred background includes both front-end and back-end responsibilities such as customer engagement, discovery, value communication, project design, and vendor coordination.
• Experience in the water treatment technology or OEM ecosystem is preferred.
