Role overview
This position is part of the Cargo & Airport Operations function in Doha, Qatar. The role is centered on day-to-day security operations, supervision of contracted security personnel, reporting, incident response, and support for airport safety and emergency readiness.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and monitor contract security supervisors and officers, making sure daily deployment and output align with the planned schedule and required standards.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders on access definitions and access requests so that the right people remain informed and authorizations are managed properly.
- Help the team prepare documents, statistics, incident summaries, and rectification updates, including trend analysis that supports continuous improvement work.
- Produce regular reports and statistics based on daily shift reports and incident reports for reference and follow-up.
- Support the preparation of daily shift documentation and incident records by gathering and organizing the information in a clear and useful format.
- Assist during emergencies, major disruptions, or threats affecting HIA or its group subsidiaries, including support for the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program such as guiding emergency vehicles and setting up cordons, to help emergency plans run smoothly.
- Carry out regular foot and mobile patrols across passenger terminals, construction areas, apron zones, midfield locations, and landside/airside perimeter areas to protect against breaches, assaults, vandalism, theft, fire, property damage, and other risks.
- Conduct drug and alcohol testing when required and apply authorized search procedures in line with company policy.
- Respond immediately to accidents or incidents reported on the landside or airside side of the terminal, initiate the required response, and escalate the matter to management without delay.
- Ensure transfer security checkpoints and hold baggage screening activities are operated in accordance with local regulations and that service levels are maintained at all times.
- Make sure secondary screening duties are completed according to the requirements of foreign authorities.
- Oversee the delivery of other airline security services in line with foreign authority requirements, including proper supervision coverage and complete documentation handling.
- Supervise staff screening and man-guarding locations, while performing quality control checks so that documented procedures are followed effectively.
- Carry out any additional department-related duties assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements
- High school, vocational, or diploma-level qualification, or an equivalent credential, along with at least 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of job-related experience.
- Background in airport or aviation security is required.
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- A driving license is preferred.
