About Swiggy
Swiggy is a major Indian on-demand delivery platform built around technology-led logistics and a practical, solution-oriented view of customer needs. Operating in more than 500 cities, it works with hundreds of thousands of restaurants, employs over 5000 people, and is supported by a fleet of more than 2 lakh independent delivery executives. The platform is powered by strong machine learning systems and large-scale daily data processing, enabling fast and dependable delivery experiences for millions of customers. What began in 2014 as a hyperlocal food delivery service has grown into a broader convenience platform that aims to deliver both customer value and a rewarding work environment.
Role Overview
The Sales Manager role is focused on acquiring and engaging single-outlet independent restaurants within an assigned city. You will be the main contact for these partners, understanding their business, identifying their challenges, and building a relationship that helps them improve orders, visibility, and customer interaction. The position is consultative and field-based, so it calls for adaptability, resourcefulness, and a strong commitment to partner success. It also provides exposure to restaurant operations, consultative selling, and the foundations for a long-term career in sales.
Work Arrangement
Employees are required to remain based in their assigned posting location or office base location.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a defined territory and build productive relationships with the restaurant partners assigned to you.
- Spend significant time in the field, visiting restaurants in person, demonstrating products, reviewing ROI, and explaining how the partnership creates value for both sides.
- Use consultative sales methods by asking the right questions about current channels, delivery operations, marketing spend, and business goals, then position Swiggy offerings as practical solutions.
- Handle the full monthly relationship cycle, including pitching, negotiation, activation, and continuous support for partner restaurants.
- Monitor adoption and performance data, identify barriers to growth, resolve issues, and adjust the approach as needed.
- Take ownership of revenue targets for your territory and manage your own pipeline and conversion metrics.
- Work confidently with Excel, Google Sheets, and WSP, since day-to-day reporting and data tracking will be done through city and central trackers.
- Keep up with restaurant trends, the competitive environment, and local market shifts, and use field feedback to inform product direction.
- Be prepared for around 80 to 90 in-person meetings with restaurant partners each month.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has 0-2 years of experience in B2B sales, field sales, or business development, with preference for backgrounds in FMCG, food and beverage, or the hotel sector. You should have a history of meeting or exceeding targets, managing your own pipeline, and taking complete ownership of portfolio growth. Since restaurant operations run throughout the day and night, the role requires a strong sense of responsibility for the assigned partner base. Advanced comfort with data tools is essential, including the ability to build pivot tables, use VLOOKUP, and create dashboards independently. A postgraduate qualification is preferred, ideally with a focus on marketing or sales.
Eligibility and Equal Opportunity
All suitably qualified applicants are considered fairly, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, disability status, or any other protected characteristic.
